A beautiful book. Marshall was one of the co-founders of the wilderness society and was instrumental in helping create the national wilderness preservation system. It's sad that hand crafts have fallen so far out of everyday life but this book will not help them reemerge.
I would much rather find an original print book.
The Kindle version (at least the one I downloaded) isn't very useful.. So where are they?. This book is very detailed without being verbose; it is just like watching a movie. If you know of the name Bob Marshall from the wilderness that is named after him, you will find this book helpful in getting to know more about the legendary man. Book somehow boring. Timerman was one of my first introductions to Argentina and I have been fascinated ever since. It is an amazing story. Bob Marshall did more for the natural landscape than Thoreau, Muir, or any other naturalist. However, if you want to read about Bob's hiking activity through the Bob Marshall, yo
