Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
I love to look through design books and this one does not disappoint. I don't know if it's because I downloaded to my phone or if there's a glitch but there are no illustrations included with the text so only an experienced weaver would be able to really follow the instructions.
No pictures at all so there's no way to know what a basket looks like before starting to weave it.
This is a legitimate book that was published in 1916 so has value but it is rather funny to read the opening introduction and the author's views on the world and basketry in the world. It's sad that hand crafts have fallen so far out of everyday life but this book will not help them reemerge.
I would much rather find an original print book.
