This Companion provides an up-to-date introduction to the life and music of Finland's greatest composer, Jean Sibelius (1865-1957). Divided into four sections, it explores Sibelius's early career, his major musical achievements, historical reception and influence, and the performance and interpretation of his work. Sibelius emerges as one of the most striking figures in twentieth-century music. The book will be of interest to performers and the general public as well as serious scholars.

At least the first two of the above errors would cause wrong responses on the private pilot written test causing me to question the value of the $40 I spent on this book though I did just notice that Amazon recently cut the price by a third.. Doughton MD.. I liked the first two in this series, but after that every plot, character and event was pretty much the same. Some of the exercises are ruined that way. We get more of the dreariness of having to be a floating fill-in nurse to make extra money, something that I have heard first hand of from real nurses. this book breaks down the solutions farter than the text does, and thats why i always buy these. The Spanish edition is great for students with easy to read prose.. It allows the reader to weigh his own consciousness against a mighty fine measure, a measure which both confirms and invites art.
The language of Gregory Woods is pure, beautiful, and excitingly holy.
glenn guillory. I know my way around this subject fairly well
