Editorial :
The best thing about this book is the fact that it is explained in a great detail and there are examples for every Maple function, which makes it much easier to understand and actually apply.. Each hike was described accurately. Great story for the kids. Either the information is too complex, or more likely, too gruesome for my taste. Apostol's book is noteworthy for its treatment of arithmetical functions, which is extensively developed throughout the text.
(2) "An Introduction to the Theory of Numbers" by Niven, Zuckerman, and Montgomery. Heard about this collection of Orwell's essays in interview with the editor, George Packer, by Christopher Hitchens (on YouTube).
These essays are gems in their prescience, clarity and range of topics. After reading some of her written work in these volumes I have adopted St Birgitta of Sweden as one of my favorite Saints. It contains everything a player of modern trumpets needs to know to get started playing a baroque trumpet.
