Editorial : About the Author Robert “Mick” Greene was born in Richfield, Utah in 1934, moved to Taft, California with his parents, and graduated from High School there in 1951. He lettered in football, swimming, and springboard diving, and was an Eagle Scout. He was accepted into the U.S. Naval Academy in 1952 and graduated in 1956. He was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force and became a fighter pilot, flying the F-86, F-100, F-4, F-104, and T-39 aircraft. He received a Master of Science Degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright Patterson AFB in 1964. Mick flew a combat tour in Vietnam in the F-100, Super Sabre. His decorations include the Silver Star, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Bronze Star, fifteen Air Medals, and the Air Force Commendation medal, in addition to numerous other service and campaign medals. He served as the System Safety Design Engineer on the FX/F-15 Aircraft and as an F-4 Maintenance Squadron Comman
