His pictures, humor, and drill sargeant approach is most helpful. Most of the people in the book are wearing greys, black, light khaki. And a new term (to me) "elite deviance" which applies to those who are the subjects in a number of the past books I've read. Maya believes the boy is still alive and succeeds in awakening him. I googled the book and saw many of the pictures, which didn't overwhelm me. Kathryn is a worthy heroine - one with a few "control" issues having had to fight her way up in a man's profession.
