His pictures, humor, and drill sargeant approach is most helpful. Most of the people in the book are wearing greys, black, light khaki. And a new term (to me) "elite deviance" which applies to those who are the subjects in a number of the past books I've read. Maya believes the boy is still alive and succeeds in awakening him.
