The fun and work of railroading,
I am walking around a grocery store thinking about buying some food for dinner when "rivers" pop into my head.
After the store I go on down to the library and check out this wonderful book on, "Rivers of the World." It is totally awesome and I learned magnificant information about where mountaintop headwaters flush themselves into distant deltas, rivers run theier courses shaping the commercial, geographical, and cultural character of nations. It shows that, if you have the drive and skill to back up your dreams and educate yourself in every way you are able, you can make your dreams happen no matter what others around you think or say.
Every elementary age student should have the chance to hear and be inspired by Jan's story.. We used this book in an number theory course I took recently. Chapter 16 is a delightful (but necessarily brief) introduction to twentieth century innovations in number theory. I did not find very many books on this subject. Rod's book is well co
