So if you are looking for some excellent basic marerial on the artist and his life in China prior to and after 1949 revolution, this may be one of the only English sources. This is a well made coffee table book that is a catalog of works shown at the Denver museum. Ample room for a busy volunteer's schedule.. I was surprised to learn few things about Marshall, like the fact that he abandoned his Jewish faith and became and agnostic socialist. There are supposed to be more than 50 pictures in this book.The text clearly indicates this. arrived early - reasonable price.. Samplle ebook is useless as it only goes to the Copyright page. Large book with great quality pictures. I highly recommend this book for yourself or as a gift to someone who loves Asian culture, history, and art. The biogrophical sketch and other articles are scholarly works that touch on the artist
